A Refreshed Audi Q4 e-tron Is in Our Future. It’s Worth the Wait
While some brands are slowing their EV adoption, Audi is forging ahead, which as the $$ of gas rises, is making electrified vehicles more attractive. An exciting update to the popular Audi Q4 e-tron is just a few months away. The tweaked version of Audi’s most popular electric SUV could show up at Audi of Napa Valley by the end of 2026.
The European model is getting complimentary reviews for its updated interior, refreshed exterior, better range and charging capacity, and enhanced driver assistance technology.
WTH Is Bidirectional Charging?
Audi says the 2027 Audi Q4 e-tron sports a “high-voltage battery [that] can both receive energy from the grid and feed it back to external devices.” Think...that e-bike, and possibly even powering some essential home functions from your e-tron.
More Power, More Range, Faster Charging
It’s unclear whether the U.S. market will get both the single and the dual-motor versions. The single-motor produces 282 hp, the dual motor gets 335 hp, estimated to be abut 10% more efficient. Audi says it’s using a new transmission lubricant that helps boost range in cold weather. Range hits about 365 miles. The Performance trim level can charge from 10% to 80% in about 27 minutes at a fast-charging station. Zero to 62 mph acceleration ranges from 8.1 to 5.4 seconds.
What’s Outside
Expect to see an Audi Q4 SUV e-tron, and a Sportback version with RWD or AWD. The Q4 e-tron’s exterior has been lightly restyled to emphasize dynamism and functionality. The big story is the lighting, with front digital LED daytime running lights offering four unique digital light signatures. OLED rear lights with optional proximity lighting will warn other drivers when they get too close.
What’s Inside
Screens ... including an 11.9” instrument cluster with a 12.8” MMI touchscreen offering an overview of features and services. A 12” passenger display is optional , as is an optional augmented reality two-layer head-up display. Dual charging trays and two USB-C ports are under the center armrest; two optional USB-C ports in the back seats. There’s plentiful storage, and ample rear-seat legroom. Available ambient lighting packages elevate the standard white lighting for greater customization and mood. A Sonos premium sound system is optional.
Safety
Standard features include parking system plus with distance display, cruise control, lane departure warning with emergency assist, traffic sign recognition, attention/fatigue driver monitoring, and active front assist, front cross traffic assist, and front emergency brake assist. For convenience, there are features to assist with parking safely and easily.
